Maia DeBaugh

Owner Profile

Classically trained in the Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society Teachers of Dance syllabuses, Maia studied Modern dance, Choreography, and Kinesiology at Ohio University. Performance highlights include performing as a soloist with the Moscow Ballet in the Nutcracker and studying with the Bolshoi Ballet. As the founding dance instructor at Merritt Dance Academy, she started an inclusive dance program that grew for 20 years as a foundation for dance education in the Carroll County community.

Over the years, she implemented a dance-related fundraising program in a Baltimore County elementary school, choreographed and performed with local community theater groups, and sits as Treasurer on the board of the Maryland Dance Education Association, a state affiliate of the National Dance Education Organization. She has twin daughters, Lucy and Cecelia, who followed in her dancing footsteps, and her husband, Chris, who has two left feet.

Ginny Budd

For as long as she can remember, Ginny has always loved to dance and that love evolved into a passion that defines who she is as a teacher today. She received her training at La Maison de la Danse under the direction of Veronica Mack.

Ginny’s experiences there included performing with the company, as well as assisting and instructing technique classes. Ginny brings over 37 years of ballet, tap, pointe, and jazz experience to DeBaugh Dance Company. She has taught dance for almost 20 years in Carroll County and has been happy to return to the stage when the opportunity presents itself. She is married to Bill and the proud mother of three.

Lori Maccia

Originally from the Philadelphia area, Lori was practically born in ballet shoes! At the age of 3 Lori took her first dance class and fell in LOVE! She went on to receive intensive training at Dansarts Studio, under director P. Gale Convery (past president of Dance Educators of America), and later joined the faculty as an instructor. She has attended dance education seminars sponsored by Dance Masters of America and dance Educators of America. Lori is currently a member of the National Dance Education Organization. An instructor for 20 years, she enjoys all of her students from “littles” to adults. Tap is one of Lori’s specialties and she finds complete joy with her adult tap students!

She has also appeared in theater productions of Anything Goes, Lil Abner, and My Fair Lady; most recently she appeared in Beauty and the Beast, Hello Dolly!, and Mary Poppins with the Glyndon Area Players in Reisterstown, MD. Lori’s cheering section is always filled with her three adult children, mom, and sister.

Jordan Luton

Jordan started training in dance when she was 3 yrs old. As her love for dance grew she searched for more challenging classes. Jordan attended the Peabody Institute for their Preparatory Dance Program. At Peabody she advanced her training in ballet and contemporary dance. Jordan majored in Dance at Long Island University Post to expand her dance knowledge. After attending a summer dance intensive in NYC, Jordan was accepted and received a scholarship to Joffrey Ballet School. She was a student in the Jazz and Contemporary trainee program. At Joffrey, Jordan studied under professional dancers from Broadway shows like Chicago, Peter Pan, Cats, Ballet Hispanico, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Company, celebrity backup dancers, etc. There she trained in theater dance, jazz, ballet, modern, contemporary, hip-hop, improvisation, Horton technique, and she choreographed multiple student pieces. Joffrey gave Jordan the skills, knowledge, and experience for the professional dance world. Jordan is a well-rounded versatile artist.

Performance experience includes: ensemble dancer for choreographer John Vincent Leggio at Ailey Citigroup Theater, ensemble dancer for choreographer Sekou Miller at Ailey Citigroup Theater, Soloist for Darnetha M’baye at the Tilles Center, dancer for Post Concert Dance Company performed at the Tilles Center. Jordan choreographed her solo on Disney World’s downtown main stage. Also, she was an ensemble dancer in the All-county Honors Ensemble Gala.
